Simultaneous pressure forming and punching in-tool; off-line working from reel
Mainly used for conical articles and for disposable plates: Automatic in - mould - cutting machines for cups, plates and trays (e.g. HIPS, PS, PP, A-PET). Forming and cutting operations are carried out in the same tool-station, because of that specification the accuracy of the perimeter cut and the repeatability is promised. This advantage is particularly important when using polypropylene sheet where the high rate of shrinkage is often variable, resulting in problems when cutting in a separate station. The perimeter cut of round articles is perfectly concentric.
Separate Forming and Punching:
Off-line working from reel (hole punch as option is possible).
Forming by vacuum and compressed air:
This solution use cheaper mould and mainly used for clam shell boxes, trays for food or trays for technical parts etc. Alternatively also in-mould cutting using a steel rule cutting blade is possible when the accuracy of the perimeter is required.
The alternative possibility is working in-line (extruder)
